The OnePlus 2’s design doesn’t appear to have changed very much

The OnePlus 2 has been submitted to Chinese regulators which have been kind enough to give us our first real look at the upcoming smartphone. Those of you hoping for a new design will be a bit disappointed because, aside from the addition of a physical home button, the design doesn’t differ very much from the OnePlus One. Rumors of a metal back seem to be false as the smartphone appears to have the same same multi-material back as its predecessor.

OnePlus has been pretty good at keeping the next smartphone under cover, but a new leak has just shown off the design in full for the first time. Chinese wireless regulator Tenaa has dropped the images showing off the One Plus 2 from all angles and proves there will be a fingerprint reader just below the screen. The camera sensor has had some work and has been moved down the back of the phone. Design wise, it looks to have the same multi-material back as before, and there’s a hint that there might be a metal frame around the outside. It’s a bit of a let down the design hasn’t changed much this time. The good news is this isn’t confirmed yet but the fact it has come directly from Tenaa means it’s probably the real deal. As for the specs, we’ve already heard whispers of a Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB of RAM, 13MP back camera, dual-SIMs and a 3,300mAh battery. So far there’s no official word on price but the official launch is coming on July 27 – not long to go now.
