Motoroloa confirms that some of AT&T’s Nexus 6 handsets are faulty

No one likes phones that comes with buggy software, especially not after you’ve spent a couple of hundred to get your hands on one. Well unfortunately it looks like there are some Nexus 6 owners who have bought the phone from AT&T who are currently experiencing software issues. For those hearing about this for the first time, basically the bug is where the phone is turned on and shows a black screen. It will then fail to connect to service which ultimately leaves the phone useless.

Motorola confirmed on Friday that some of the initial Nexus 6 models sent to AT&T contained a software glitch that would prevent the phones from working properly. “We delivered a small number of Nexus 6 smartphones with incorrect software to AT&T customers who preordered,” a Motorola representative told Re/code. “The incorrect software prevents the phone from starting up properly. We will provide replacements for consumers whose phones are affected. The problem has been corrected and the phones currently shipping are fine.” Droid Life reported earlier Friday that AT&T was telling its stores to return their inventories of Nexus 6 phones. The Motorola representative said only the AT&T models were affected. Motorola was chosen by Google to make the Nexus 6 as the launch phone for Lollipop, the latest version of Android.
