Coming up with the idea for a great application is hard enough, but then having to decide how to monetize it, makes the whole process even harder.

Well, have no fear app developers. This infographic presented by Startapp provides you with a nice flow chart to help you decide the best way to monetize your app.

There are five ways to build a profitable application. First, you have in-app ads, which are pretty self explanatory. Then there is pay per download. This is great for apps that have a high percentage of active users. Next, there are freemiums. These require free basic game play, but premium features and services cost extra. Another option is notifications. These work best for apps that do not have a natural spot for banners. And lastly, you have paid apps. These are the best option when there is a large marketing budget.
