It is safe to say that Mojang’s Minecraft game is a pretty popular one. There are many reasons as to why the game is so popular. It could be due to the fact that it allows players to create their own worlds. It could also be the gameplay itself which is pretty straightforward and fun, but whatever the reason is, at the end of the day Mojang definitely has a hit on their hands. That being said, Minecraft’s creator, Markus “Notch” Persson has recently taken to Twitter in which he proudly announced that the game had managed to hit the 15 million copies sold mark.

Minecraft continues to break sales milestones, with the PC version now selling 15 million copies. Markus “Notch” Persson, creator of Minecraft, tweeted earlier today that the original Minecraft surpassed the 15-million sales mark. “The original Minecraft has sold 15 million copies,” he wrote. “Time to celebrate!” The original version of Minecraft hit the 14-million sales mark in February, which means the first-person adventure title sold roughly 1 million copies over the past three months. But the PC edition of Minecraft isn’t the only one selling extremely well. Earlier this month, Mojang announced that Minecraft — Pocket Edition had surpassed 21 million sales on mobile devices, while around the same time, the Xbox 360 editionmoved past the 12-million sales mark. And the PlayStation 3 version of Minecraft also has been popular, with Mojang saying back in January that the digital edition has moved 1 million units.
