Samsung is really speeding things up with its phablets. Not only did the company decide to announce the next-generation Galaxy Note earlier than expected, it also opened up pre-orders for the smartphone immediately after the announcement, as well as for the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. Now that Apple has entered the phablet market with the iPhone 6 Plus, Samsung wants to avoid competing directly. Best Buy and America’s four major wireless carriers are now accepting pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, which should be shipping out by August 21.
When Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus on Thursday, it did something that we rarely see: it announced that pre-orders were going to kick off today at 3:00 p.m. EST. Well, as it happens, you can now pre-order both devices. AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon and Best Buy are all accepting pre-orders for the device. We’ve already broken down the no-contract pricing, which should help you figure out which one to go with, but there are some other deals to be aware of. Sprint is tossing in a Galaxy Tab 4 for free with a two-year agreement and a monthly data plan if you pre-order either smartphone. T-Mobile is offering a free year of Netflix if you sign up by 8/20 and buy the phone by 9/30. Finally, Best Buy is offering a free wireless charger with purchase and activation and a $200 Best Buy Gift Card if you trade in a qualified and working smartphone. AT&T and Verizon are also accepting pre-orders, but we don’t see any specific deals tied with the phones just yet. Hit the source links to grab yours now, and remember they should be in your hands on August 21.
