Windows Store continues to grow but still can’t compete with Apple

The Windows Store has seen some significant growth this year with a 38.56% increase in downloads since June. Despite this, however, Microsoft is still light years away from competing with Apple with only 1.7 millions daily downloads compared to Apple’s 75 million.

As more Windows users transition to Windows 8 and Windows 8.1Microsoft’s app store is beginning to gain some traction. TechCrunch has shared Microsoft’s latest numbers, which show that the Windows Store delivered 1.7 million daily downloads in October, a 39% increase over the number of apps downloaded daily from the store in June.
