Twitter’s Vice President of Product leaves the company

Avatar of Rocco Penn Rocco Penn January 19, 2014

Twitter’s Vice President of Product Michael Sippey just announced that he’s stepping into an advisory role at the company, then moving on to, well, something else. In a company email that Sippey also posted on his blog, he said he realized that “it was time to move on” after discussions with Twitter CEO Dick Costolo and COO Ali Rowghani.

Twitter’s vice president of product is out, reportedly due to the company’s hesitance to role out new products that might mess with the micro-blogging site’s money-making potential. In a post on his personal blog, Michael Sippey said he plans to move from his current position as the company’s vice president of product into a more advisory role. He will he continue to assist Twitter with product development and strategy as he works to help find his successor.
