One of the most notable things about the unveiling of the Galaxy S6 was Samsung’s inclusion of a dual-edge version of the flagship smartphone, called the Galaxy S6 Edge. Perhaps due to the positive response to this unique smartphone, rumors out of South Korea suggest that Samsung will be doing the same thing with its next Galaxy Note phablet, meaning it may release a dual-edge version as well.
Samsung Electronics, largely buoyed by a positive response to the dual-edge display of its new Galaxy S6 Edge smartphone, is considering adopting the unique styling to its other high-end models, including the upcoming Note. “There is a possibility that Samsung will introduce the curved display for the Galaxy Note lineup,” said Roh Tae-moon, executive vice president of Samsung’s product strategy team, at a news conference held Monday in Barcelona. The Korean tech giant unveiled the Galaxy S6 and its Edge variant on the eve of the Mobile World Congress, the telecom industry’s largest gathering of the year that runs through Thursday in the Catalan capital. The Edge, whose curved display wraps around the sides of the device, is especially being lauded during the exhibition for its premium look and feel ― features that are usually associated with Apple’s iPhones.
