Sprint is getting its first Lumia smartphone, and it’s free!

This may come as a surprise, but Sprint hasn’t had a Lumia-branded phone ever since Nokia adopted Windows Phone. Sprint users who didn’t want to use Android or iOS have had to purchase Windows Phones from HTC or Samsung, which don’t even come close to matching Nokia in that area. Fortunately, that’s all going to change under Microsoft’s rule over the Lumia line.

The Nokia Lumia 635 is now available on Sprint for $0 with a two-year service agreement. Out of the major US carriers, Sprint has been noticeably absent from Lumia launches, and it was believed that the Lumia 735 would be the first smartphone to launch on the network in the first half of 2015. However, the Lumia US account has now revealed the availability of the entry level Nokia Lumia 635 on Sprint. According to the carrier’s website, the device can be availed for free with a two-year contract or a full retail price of $168. The Lumia 635 which was announced last April by Nokia, is an inexpensive 4G LTE smartphone which features a 4.5″ WVGA screen, a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 512 MB of RAM, 5 megapixel rear camera and 8 GB of internal storage.
