Sony sold 11 PS4 consoles per second on launch day

Sony sold a million PS4 consoles in the first 24 hours of its release, equalling about 11 consoles sold per second. Should they continue to be met with such success, Sony will most likely be able to reach their goal of 3 million consoles sold before the end of the year.

Before the launch of the PS4 last Friday, we speculated as to just how many Sony would sell before the Xbox One launches this coming Friday. Demand was certainly expected to be high, but I doubt anyone thought Sony would manage to sell a million consoles in the first 24 hours.
