Microsoft and Sony both fear Valve’s SteamOS

The two console giants (oh, and Nintendo if you want to include them) are both terrified of the potential that a successful SteamOS and Steam Machine could have. They have enough trouble fighting each other. Can Valve make something sexy enough to rock the gaming console world?

Microsoft corporate vice president Phil Harrison admitted that the company plans to keep a close eye on Valve Software’s invasion into the Xbox space with SteamOS and the Steam Machines initiative. Now Sony UK boss Fergal Gara is saying the same thing, admitting that Steam Machines could pose a potential threat to consoles.

What do you think?
