Google app adds support for the Android 4.4.3 update

We’ve already heard word of an Android 4.4.3 update already in the works, but now we’re seeing hints that the release might be coming soon. An app maintained by Google under its Education endeavor was just updated to add, among other things, support for Android 4.4.3. The app itself, called the Google Edu Device Setup, won’t probably be of much interest to most end users, unless they’re part of the Google’s Education program.

Google has yet to formally announce Android 4.4.3, but it’s definitely out there. In fact, the Play Store has revealed that Google’s Edu Device Setup application is already listing support for the unannounced Android build. Not exactly for Joe Q. Public, this particular app is used to help set up tablets purchased through Google Apps for Education. Updated last week, version 3.2.0 of Edu Device Setup doesn’t provide any specifics on the next version of Android, however it does add a bit of support to recent claims that 4.4.3 is in the works. Google I/O is a little over two months away, so if the folks in Mountain View are working on a new version of Android, there’s a good chance that we might see it announced while on the road to this year’s big developers conference.
