Google announces Google Play Services 4.1

Today, via the Android Developers Blog, Google announced the rollout of Google Play Services 4.1, which offers developers more and better tools to make compelling apps. First off, 4.1 will give developers the chance to take advantage of turn-based multiplayer mechanics handled totally by Play Services.

Games on the Android platform are about to get a little more fun… and friendly. The latest Google Play Services update, released Thursday, lets developers take advantage of new turn-based multiplayer mechanics. Once enabled, you’ll be able to play with up to eight friends in a game. That data will then be uploaded to the Play Services servers, allowing other players to see your score in real time.
