Google acquires Bitspin, makers of the Android alarm clock app Timely

Google has reportedly acquired Bitspin, the Swiss company best known for its beautifully designed Android alarm clock app Timely. Bitspin announced the move this week in a blog post, seeking to assure users that the acquisition won’t mean Timely is winding down anytime soon.

In a move likely designed to bring into its fold a team of Swiss Android developers, Google has apparently bought Bitspin, according to a post on the website of the maker of an Android alarm clock app. ”We’re thrilled to announce that Bitspin is joining Google, where we’ll continue to do what we love: building great products that are delightful to use,” the post reads. For its part, the search engine giant has not issued any confirmation or further details of the apparent acquisition.
