Ford partners with University of Michigan to develop self-driving cars

Ford is pulling the academic world into autonomous car research because what student doesn’t want a driver-less designated driver. The car manufacturer partnered with the University of Michigan and insurance company State Farm to create a “research” Ford Fusion Hybrid. Ford says it is working on making some real headway in the autonomous vehicle department by 2025.

The march toward an unstoppable army of robot cars continues. This time it’s Ford developing our future overlords. Specifically, Ford has just revealed its new Fusion Hybrid Research Vehicle, which will act as a test platform for autonomous driving.
