First Foxconn manufactured BlackBerry phone to debut at MWC 2014

Back in December 2013, BlackBerry and Foxconn announced a partnership in which it would see Foxconn help BlackBerry manufacture some of their phones. Now the good news is that if you were wondering how long it would take for you to see the fruit of their efforts, it seems that you might not have to wait too long. According to Terry Guo, the chairman of Hon Hai also known as Foxconn, it looks like the first BlackBerry-Foxconn handset will be making its debut at MWC 2014.

Mobile World Congress is all set to kick off in Barcelona, Spain February 24-27th and while the event has never really been big for BlackBerry, Terry Gou, chairman of Taiwan’s Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. otherwise known as Foxconn is creating some buzz for BlackBerry. Gou recently made comments at a Hon Hai charity festival in Taipei that BlackBerry and Foxconn would be debuting their first Foxconn built device at Mobile World Congress. “We are working with them to design a new device, and we will showcase multiple devices at the trade show in Barcelona in February.”
