Facebook and TED partner up for exclusive Paper content

TED Talks kicks off its 30th annual conference this week in Vancouver, and to mark the occasion the conference is taking over Facebook Paper‘s Ideas feed. The week-long partnership will include exclusive blog posts and photos from TED speakers, and represents the first time Facebook is letting an outside group curate one of Paper’s verticals after launching the app on iOS last month.

TED says its conferences provide “ideas worth spreading,” and Facebook apparently agrees. Facebook and TED on Monday announced a content collaboration for Paper, the company’s standalone news reader and publishing app released in late January. For the week, the Ideas section of Paper will feature TED material exclusively. The Ideas section within the app typically changes each day to highlight a new theme or topic, but TED will be the featured topic for the entire week during its TED2014 conference in Vancouver, Canada. Paper will feature content from TED attendees, including blog posts and talk videos from the conference. Some TED Fellows, individuals who are selected by TED as partners, will provide exclusive content to Facebook throughout the week, which will also appear in Paper.
