China still has the world’s fastest supercomputer

The Tianhe-2, developed by China’s National University of Defense Technology, still holds the title as the world’s fastest supercomputer. However, this Chinese made supercomputer is made almost entirely out of American made hardware.

Today is that twice-a-year day when the world pays attention to big iron. The latest edition of the Top 500 list of the most powerful supercomputers is released, coinciding with a conference being held in Denver.
