LG as a company will look back on 2014 as the year in which it turned a very important corner in the smartphone world. Sales have increased, the G3 arrived with plenty of hype and lived up to it, and the Korean company is also making its own processors now. What’s more, LG is finally getting serious about software, which was first in evidence after even a quick play with its G3 UI, and is now all but confirmed as the company said the G3 flagship with be getting Android 5.0 Lollipop before the end of the year.
LG G3 users will reportedly receive the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop update before the end of this year. According to a report by a Dutch website, LG has promised its Dutch and Belgian users of LG G3 that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update will be released before the end of 2014; however it did not include exact timing for the update. Recently, Samsung’s plan of updating its flagship Galaxy S5 to Android 5.0 Lollipop in December was reported as well. The report said the Lollipop update for the Galaxy S5 might take up to a full month to roll out to every handset worldwide. Samsung hasn’t officially announced any plans to release Android 5.0 Lollipop for the Galaxy S5, but the South Korean giant has already hinted the Lollipop update will be coming soon for Galaxy Note 4.
