Three of Sony’s new flagships have been showcased in a leaked video

Despite the fact that Sony’s mobile division is practically a money incinerator, the company has made it clear that it’s not going to stop making smartphones anytime soon. The Xperia Z5 will be the first flagship from Sony Mobile since making that promise, and the company is expected to officially unveil it at IFA 2015 next month, but a leaked showcase video out of France may have beat it to the punch. Not only does the three-minute video show off the Xperia Z5’s specs, it also shows off the Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia Z5 Premium.

Ahead of the official unveil of the Xperia Z5 later this week at the IFA, a three-minute video showcasing the device — along with the Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia Z5 Premium — has made its way onto the internet. The video in question is from French tech publication Clubic, and while it is likely that the video was meant to go live after the launch of the handsets, the leak gives us a n early look at what’s to come this Wednesday. Based on translation from the video, all three models with feature fingerprint scanners on the right side, 23MP cameras that can autofocus in just 0.03 seconds and take 16:9 images at 20MP, two-day battery life and Sony’s traditional dust and water-resistant design. With regards to the specs, it looks like the 5.5-inch Xperia Z5 Premium will be the first smartphone to offer a 4K display, with all three models powered by the Snapdragon 810 SoC. The Premium model also features an engraved Xperia logo on its side, which was shown off in leaked images last week. As always, nothing’s official until we hear from Sony, but with the manufacturer hosting a press event on Wednesday, we don’t have to wait long to find out what’s coming. What do you guys think of Sony’s upcoming products?
