For those of us with tons of different passwords for tons of different accounts, password managers like Dashlane are a lifesaver because they remember all these passwords for you. The problem is, you still need to remember one password, which is the master password that unlocks your Dashlane account, but if you have a fingerprint scanner on your smartphone, you won’t even have to remember that one. This is according to Dashlane which recently announced that it now supports fingerprint scanners for Samsung smartphones. 

Password management app Dashlane has announced it is adding support for fingerprint sensors on Samsung’s smartphones like the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge, starting with immediate effect. The latest Android version of the app, which comes with version number 3.4.1.792 lists the feature as the only major entry in its changelog. Prior to this update, the app was on version number 3.4.0.748. The changelog for the latest update simply says, “Samsung users can now unlock Dashlane with Finger Scanner. Yet another way to access your passwords and important information safely and easily with Dashlane!” The company had previously announced support for the native biometric security integration that Android M is about to bring, which will make this particular feature on the app instantly compatible with just about all Android M-based devices with fingerprint scanners at once. The iOS version of the app already support’s Apple’s Touch ID.
