Twitter Research Shows That Top Influencers Don’t Share

Twitter

Uh oh. It would seem that the popular crowd at Twitter does not like to share.

ReadWriteWeb has conducted some amazing in-depth research about Twitter, and the numbers tell quite the story. We now understood that approximately 30% of top Twitter influencers don’t retweet. They did this by analyzing 485 accounts that rank highest on Twitter Lists.

There are two possible explanations for this: either top Twitter influencers care only about themselves or they are stretched for time and only tweet instead of reciprocate. Or, just maybe, they are both. But we’re leaning towards them being too stretched for time — although it would be nice if they used their power to better the Twitter community instead of spreading their messages a majority of the time.

But that is how Twitter works.

Either way, ReadWriteWeb’s research is sound, and the tool they used to display it is impressive. So visit their site and check out all the cool graphs.
