Yahoo and Nokia Enter Into Mutually Exclusive Partnership for E-Mail, Maps

Yahoo and Nokia have formed a partnership to serve mutually exclusive content on their differing platforms. Nokia has offered to be the exclusive content provider for maps and navigation for Yahoo, and Yahoo has offered to be the exclusive e-mail provider for Nokia.

“It’s a deeper collaboration than many expected,” said MKM Partners analyst Tero Kuittinen. “It could really help broaden the reach of Nokia’s email and messaging services in emerging markets, where they already have decent traction.”

The move by Nokia launched its stock price up by 0.4 percent, while Yahoo’s stock saw a 0.8 percent increase based on the news.
