Bing just received a bunch of shopping features for the holidays

Just in time for the holiday shopping season, Microsoft has added a plethora of new features to Bing that will improve the online shopping experience of its users. For starters, the company has added more product images to its search results, and has started expanding its Pinterest-like image saving feature with an image stream that shows you images that have been favorited by other users. More useful than that, however, is the feature that makes it easier to compare the prices of the same product at different stores, and even recommends similar products in the event that the product you’re interested in is a bit too expensive. 

Make your list and check it twice because the biggest shopping weekend of the year is just a few short days away. But before you head to the store or log on to your favorite shopping sites, head to Microsoft Edge and Bing, to get several new tools to help you find the perfect gifts and save money. Microsoft Edge notifies you of the best coupons Cortana can find for a retailer without you ever needing to leave the retailer’s site. Microsoft Edge supports more than 100 retailers including Macy’s, Target, and Toys “R” Us through our partnership with Shopular, a leading coupon provider. When you visit one of the supported retailer sites, just click on the Cortana icon in the address bar to see available coupons. While all this shopping can be fun, it can also be a stressor on our wallet. According to the National Retail Federation, consumers plan to spend an average of $805 on holiday merchandise this year. Bing is bringing you some relief by adding more data to product images, including prices for the same item sold at different stores, reviews and ratings and store availability. We’re rolling this out to desktop and mobile devices over the next few days, at which time all you need to do is search for an item on Bing Images, look for the shopping cart icon and scroll down to the “Places to Buy Beta.” Bing also shows you visually similar products to the one you’re looking at in case your original search is a little out of your desired price range.
