How the chaos factor in Seoul makes them a model (and a challenge) for Silicon Valley


There was a time not too long ago when pretty much everything that had to do with technology, particular computer and mobile technology, had some form of roots in Silicon Valley. That’s where the smart people go. It’s where the fresh companies go. It’s where startups turn into billion dollar corporations. They have lessons to learn up in the San Francisco Bay area and Seoul, South Korea, may be the venue that can teach them those lessons. Then again, they may also be emerging as their biggest competitor.

South Korea may be futuristic in some regards, but from a design perspective, many of the country’s most popular web services look outmoded, like throwbacks to the ’90s. Most mobile apps and web pages are crammed with chaotic boxes of information, stacked headlines and flashing lines of text.
