Polaroid announces its own smartphone for teenagers

Polaroid might be a company that many people equate to cameras and not necessarily smartphones, but with smartphones these days starting to take better photos than your regular compact cameras, there is little need for Polaroid cameras, save for the novelty value of insta-printing your photos for keepsake.

Today Polaroid announced a new smartphone aimed at teenagers – the PolaSma (Polaroid Smartphone). While the company is struggling to survive, this new device is certainly a step forward. The device comes with a 5″ LCD display with a resolution of 960×540, as well as a 1.3 GHz MediaTek MT6582 quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. It also comes with an 8MP rear-facing camera, 2MP front-facing camera, and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The PolaSma will come in 3 colors, Cherry Pink, Blueberry Blue, and Lemon Yellow.
