Second screen and controller functionality highlight PlayStation’s upcoming iOS, Android apps

Nintendo put a lot of focus on the ability of the Wii U to have a second screen and an innovative controller. Sony is trying to match them, though without the clunky controller and with a lot less emphasis put onto it through their November release of an iOS and Android app.

Owners of Sony’s upcoming PS4 will be able to download the PlayStation app for iOS and Android come November.

The launch date was revealed by Sony at this week’s Tokyo Game Show 2013, according to gaming news site Polygon. The PS4 itself is scheduled to land in North America on November 15 and in Europe on November 29.
