Apple has hit 200 thousand units sold per week for the iPad. If you’re bad at math, that’s more or less a couple of iPads.
Amazingly, this figure is also a pretty big milestone – according to Mike Abramsky, an analyst for RBC Capital Markets, this means the iPad is now outselling the Mac itself.
The future of computing is nigh, it seems. Suddenly my Mac Pro seems, like, all ancient and stuff.
“We believe Apple is now selling >200k iPads/week, greater than US Macs (est. 110k Macs/week) and just below US iPhone 3GS first quart (246k/week),”said Abramsky, attributing the mega-strong sales to “rising consumer visibility to iPad’s user experience, sustained PR/word-of-mouth marketing, 3G iPad launch, and broadening iPad apps/content.”
Considering the iPad’s still selling out just about everywhere with no immediate signs of deceleration, I for one wouldn’t be surprised if the iPhone’s sales get toppled in the coming weeks.
These figures bring up an interesting question: what are the weekly numbers for the Stuart Hughes gold iPad? Or, if you’re good at math, where do you think the decimal point is?

Are you high? Selling more is does not mean it is cannibalizing sales.
The only thing stopping me from buying an ipad is the fact i can’t connect my terrabyte external hd so i can have my music
Goes to show you that Steve Jobs could crap on a plate and the Mac-tards would buy it.
Sweettttt! 😀
